Grapes of Wrath & Reaping Inspired Portraits

At a recent staff meeting, Pastor Rick challenged each ministry team at Saddleback to create a unique team photo.  After some brainstorming, our team (Saddleback CM) decided on a theme that we like to call “The Hunger Games meets The Grapes of Wrath.”  Inspired by the Depression-era fashion of the Reaping scene from the film and Dorothea Lange’s vivid images of California migrant workers in the 1930s, we headed to the historic Los Rios District in San Juan Capistrano, known as the oldest neighborhood in California, to help capture the historic feel we were seeking. I set up my camera on a tripod and used the good ‘ole 10 second timer. It was a fun challenge. Enjoy!
